Easy-to-Use, Multi-Platform Soundtrap is First of its Kind for Making Music and Podcasts; Fully Integrated into Google Classroom
June 27, 2016 – Soundtrap, the first-of-its-kind online collaborative music and audio recording studio, beloved by teachers and students, is now included in Google for Education’s “Creative Apps for Chromebooks” program being announced at the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) 2016 conference this week in Denver. Google for Education supports the enormous success of the company’s Chromebooks in the classroom, which have become the leading choice among teachers. (See Google’s web site: g.co/educhromebookapps)
After a beta launch that took the market by storm followed by a year of success, Soundtrap grew from 20,000 users in the beginning of 2015 to more than half a million today. Fully integrated with Google Classroom, Soundtrap was named “The Best Website for Teaching and Learning 2015” by the American Association of School Librarians. Soundtrap is especially suited to students in K-12 schools worldwide, increasing creativity, involvement, collaboration and learning.
“Google for Education reached out to teachers in Chromebook classrooms to discover the best Chromebook apps that foster critical skills for the future, such as creativity, collaboration and communication,” said Soundtrap CEO Per Emanuelsson.
“As stated in the Google for Education blog, they were ‘On a mission to discover Chromebook tools that foster skills of the future [and they are] excited to announce a collection of creative apps on Chromebooks that schools can purchase together.’ We have also seen Soundtrap being used by teachers as a creative and collaborative tool to help students learn in completely new ways.”
Also included in the Creative Apps for Chromebooks are Wevideo and Explain Everything. They are available from Chromebook reseller partners with special pricing when all three apps are purchased in a bundle. Soundtrap for Education is also available separately through https://soundtrap.com/edu where discounted pricing for schools is offered at less than $5 per seat per year. Soundtrap is showcasing its solution at ISTE Conference & Expo booth #4317.
