Do Something Awesome; Share With A Friend Who May Benefit

2011 is a year I will never forget.  I personally went through many changes, and watched milestone changes for many people close to me.  Over the past 6 months, I’ve had some time to grow, meet new people, and find strength within myself that I never knew existed.

Via my own personal transitions, these are things I’ve learned this year:

1.  Relationships which were formed via a job will continue outside if they were meant to continue.  We don’t stop loving people just because we don’t work in the same environment anymore.  Friendships that are strong will go on forever.

2.  If you give to people in your life (including strangers), it comes back ten fold in the most surprising ways.

3.  Don’t be afraid to reach out to people in your field just because they hold a high-level position.  Many will reach back as a mentor, offer assistance and/or advice.  They will also be interested in learning from you.

4.  Don’t focus on the past, just keep moving forward.  Pick yourself up every single time you fall.  Learn the lesson and move on.  Don’t waste precious time looking back.

5.  Every minute is a gift.  Treasure those around you, hug your kids every day, and savor every moment.  Life can change in a second.

6.  Don’t live in a ‘what if ‘ scenario.  This only steals precious time.  There is no ‘what if’, there is only ‘what is’.

7.  Share your knowledge.  Everyone has something special to offer.  Help each other and teach each other.

8.  Gain confidence.  If you are confident, it shows.  Share your opinions, join discussions and debates.  Don’t worry about others judging you.  Confidence is very attractive.

9.  Life is a journey, not an endgame.  Try to enjoy the journey and find something good out of the most difficult moments.

10.  You are never alone.  Someone is always going through similar circumstances.
